On March 16th of that year, a notice from the Hibernian Society was published in the local paper, The Georgian, inviting the citizens of Savannah to join them for a discourse at the Roman Catholic Church on the Feast of St. Patrick the following day. On Sunday, February 24, 2019, the members of the St. Patrick’s Day Parade Committee elected Gerald “Jerry” Patrick Counihan as Grand Marshal to lead Savannah’s 195th St. Patrick’s Day Parade.
